The symbol we adapted it from is used in traveling communities as a symbol of physical safety. it means “you won’t get arrested here or you won’t get hurt here, you’re safe with us” and basically we wanted to take that meaning to a more philosophical safety.  We want to make people feel that its safe to be themselves, to think for themselves, to be who they want to be free from judgement classification and ridicule.
